Maranoa residents are currently subject to a temporary fire ban.

Due to a high fire danger rating, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services have implemented a fire ban for parts of South West Queensland at midnight, Thursday 16 February until 11.59pm, Tuesday 28 February.

This is for residents in Maranoa, Western Downs, Goondiwindi and Balonne Government areas.

With the high weather conditions, creating an environment for bushfires to ignite and rapidly spread, all open fires have been prohibited and ‘Permits to Light Fire’ cancelled.

However, power tools are still allowed for use with extreme caution.
