The Department of Transport and Main Roads will reduce the speed limit on the Carnarvon Highway through Injune this year in November, 2023.
The speed will be reduced from 60km/h to 50km/h through the township. The speed limit on the Carnarvon Highway through the township of Injune was reduced on 23 October in response to community concerns.
Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said a speed limit review of the Carnarvon Highway through Injune between north of Cemetery Road to south of Womblebank Gap Road considered a range of factors including road function, roadside environment, road construction standards, prevailing traffic speeds and crash history.
“It recommended reducing the speed limit to 50km/h and the recommendation was tabled at a Speed Management Committee meeting,“ Mr Bailey said.
