School Holiday Program

With school holidays starting today, our Maranoa Region has a wide range of events happening all over the towns to keep you busy.

Monday 26 June:

• Meet up with Storm Company in Surat. A Bus trip leaves Yuleba at 8.30am and returns at 2pm. For all ages; bring a hat, closed-in-shoes and a water bottle. Booking is essential as there are limited numbers – ring 1300 007 662.

• Take Home Animal Quiz: The Wallumbilla library is giving out quizzes from 11.30am to 5pm; all ages welcome.

Tuesday, 27 June:

• Tennis Coaching Clinic: Come along and join Tennis Maranoa in a mix of activities at the Wallumbilla Tennis Courts. You must be over 8 years old; bring along a tennis racket, hat, closed-in shoes and a drink bottle. Booking is essential, ring 1300 007 662.

Wednesday, 28 June:

• Take home scavenger hunt: Get your very own scavenger hunt at the Wallumbilla Library from 11.30am to 5pm. All ages welcome.

• Meet and Greet Maranoa Marsupials: Come along to the Roma Library and meet Maranoa Wildlife and Caring Education animals in care from 10am to 11.30am. All ages are welcome, book via phone: (07) 4624 0301 or email roma.libary@maranoa.qld.gov.au.

Saturday, 1 July:

• Life on the Tail Art Exhibition: Come along to the Injune Creek Art Gallery for the official exhibition opening at 3pm and check out Abigail Guthrie’s artwork – the first exhibition from the local travelling veterinarian.

Tuesday, 4 July:

• Sausage Sizzle in Yuleba: Come along and join the community in Garth Cox Park, Yuleba and catch up with another over a snag-in-bread from 10am onwards. All ages are welcome, you will need to bring a hat, closed-in shoes, and a water bottle.

Wednesday, 5 July:

• Jamie’s Ministry of Food: Put on your cooking apron and join the Healthy Communities Team from South West Hospital and Health Service, and create a yummy, holiday meal. This will run from 9.30am to 11.30am at the Wallumbilla Hall. All ages are welcome, you will need closed-in shoes and a water bottle. Booking is essential, call 1300 007 662.

• Thursday, 6 July:

Sausage Sizzle in Wallumbilla: Come along to the Wallumbilla Hall at 10am and bring along closed-in shoes, a hat, and a water bottle. All ages are welcome.

Friday, 7 July:

• Free Movie Screening on the big screen at Roma’s Big Rig: Running from 2pm to 4pm, people aged 12 and up are invited to come along and enjoy an afternoon at the Big Rig with ‘The War with Grandpa’. Description: “Peter and his grandpa used to be very close, but when Grandpa Jack moves in with the family, Peter is forced to give up his most prized possession: his bedroom. Peter will stop at nothing to get his room back, scheming with friends to devise a series of pranks to drive him out.” Rated PG. Your favourite movie snacks will be provided! Bring along a water bottle, a hat and sunscreen. Booking is essential as there are limited spots; call: 1300 007 662.

Saturday, 8 July:

• PCYC Maranoa Open Day: Come along from 11am to 2pm, and join PCYC for a day to discover the activities running at the club. Laser Tag, Badminton, Basketball, Karate, Boxing, food vans and more will be up and running. All ages welcome.
