Bush recollections

Being Australian is a special thing and beloved Australian Bush Poet Murray Hartin could not have reminded us anymore when he shared his poems of Australian life at the Begonia Sports Club.

Murray also known as Muz, joined Begonia last weekend for an afternoon of lunch and laughs to celebrate all things dad at the town’s Father’s Day Lunch event.

He shared his many experiences of growing up as a bush kid in Moree, New South Wales, and the memories of his many friends throughout the years through his unapologetically blunt, but quintessentially Australian bush poetry with titles like “Turbulence” and “Fishin’ for Cod”.

The Begonia Sports Club has just recently in the last twelve months finished renovations and made for the perfect venue for some afternoon drinks and poetry.

The event was coordinated by Danille Koster and Tiffany Black from the Begonia Sports Club committee who said the event was a great success.

“Tie Up the Black Dog and Care Balonne St George were a tremendous help in getting the day together with their generous donations, and so we would like to extend our thanks once again to them,” concluded Danille.
