Gateway To Training is proud to host its first-ever Training & Careers Expo on 19 May, building on the strong foundations of previous career events in the region.

While this is a new initiative for Gateway To Training, the region has previously shown strong interest in career-focused events, with past expos attracting hundreds of attendees and strong support from local schools and businesses.

Gateway to Training marketing officer Lucy Keeping said there was a clear demand for an event that brought together career pathways, training options, and employment opportunities in a practical and accessible way.

“The expo is designed for anyone exploring their next step, whether you’re a school student preparing to enter the workforce, someone looking to upskill, or an individual considering a career change,” Ms Keeping said.

“It’s also a valuable event for parents, job seekers, and community members wanting to better understand local opportunities.”

Ms Keeping said the expo offered a direct way for exhibitors to engage with potential employees and students, promote pathways into their industries, and showcase what they do.

“For attendees, it’s a chance to have a real conversation, ask questions, and gain insights that go beyond what you’ll find online.”

A broad range of industries will be featured at the expo, including trades, agriculture, health, emergency services, education, defence, and business services. “With a mix of training organisations, employers, and industry groups, there will be something relevant for everyone.”

Ms Keeping said visitors could expect an interactive and welcoming environment, with displays, hands-on demonstrations, and opportunities to speak directly with people working in different fields.

“It’s a chance to explore options, gather information, and make valuable connections,” she said.

The event will run throughout the day, allowing attendees to move freely between exhibitors at their own pace.

Demonstrations and displays will provide practical insights into various industries, making it an engaging and informative experience.

Ms Keeping said visitors could make the most of the day by keeping an open mind and taking the opportunity to ask questions.

“Whether you’re finishing school, looking to upskill, or considering a new direction, exploring a range of options can help you make more informed decisions about your future,” she said.

“Gateway To Training’s Training & Careers Expo is all about connection, bringing people and opportunities together.

“Whether you’re just starting out or looking for a change, it’s an opportunity to take the next step with confidence.”

Ms Keeping said if people could not make the expo, Gateway To Training was still able to provide support, with a team of experts to deliver guidance about training options, career pathways, and employment opportunities.

The Expo is at Gateway To Training, located at 15-21 Russell Street,

Goondiwindi. The venue is centrally located and accessible, making it easy for attendees

from across the region to visit.
