Calling all Maranoa motorcyclists!
The annual Maranoa Motorcycle Toy Run is back on Saturday 26 November from 8am.
“It’s the Maranoa toy run’s eleventh year and we stick to the same format each year,” said long time event coordinator, John Finnigan.
“We start outside Bassett Park and continue on to the Roma Gun Club.”
The motorcycle toy run initiative is run by John and a few others in the community in partnership with Anglicare.
Riders bring along toys and toys are collected from community donations for children less fortunate at Christmas time.
John said he will be riding with a trailer on the day which members of the public can drop their toys in. He also said $20 gift vouchers for Mr Toys Toy World or K Hub are welcome, however, it is a strict $20 maximum limit to ensure no child misses out.
“The day is about the children yes, but it’s also about having a social morning,” said John.
“When we finish at the Roma Gun Club, we will have a barbeque ready to go with the great help of Bakearoma, which is the perfect way to have a chat and start your day.”
If you have a motorcycle and wish to join the toy run, meet at Bassett Park at 8am for a ride off at 8.30am on Saturday 26 November.
If you wish to donate some toys or gift vouchers to the toy run, being along McDowall Street will be best as that is the route the bikes will be taking.
